Project Goals
A client requested Sunrise to design a fast, portable, highly sensitive analyzer for field use.
Sunrise Labs Solutions
- Formalized the system requirements with our client
- Developed the architecture for electronics and real-time subsystems to implement the multi-band system
- Designed and specified internal communications and data paths
- Designed the hardware and software, while leveraging the client’s key technology
- Specified and tested sources, designed wide-band very low noise 110 db front end, digitized to 16 bits at 100 MHz sample rate
- Acquired and processed the dual detector information in real time with FPGA baseband processor
- Designed and tested programmable 5 amp 100 ns pulsed source drive, with adjustable current settings, closed loop control, and fault detect shutdown
- Designed control sub-systems for power and current feedback, source tuning controls, detector thermal control, and overall hardware and firmware for portable demonstration products
- Integrated hardware to control source temperatures, tune and pulse the sources, and interface with sensors to ensure proper synchronization between multiple interdependent control loops
- Tested the sub-systems, as well as overall system, to ensure requirements were met
Results
- Supported client’s UI development, further signal processing, customization and deployment of the prototypes
- Tested the sub-systems, as well as overall system, to ensure requirements were met
