The Best Companies To Work For Is – Sunrise Labs!

For 3 years in a row, Sunrise Labs is recognized by BusinessNH Magazine

Bedford, NH –

Sunrise Labs did it again!! We moved up to First Place in BusinessNH Magazine’s 2021 Best Companies To Work For.  By sticking to our purpose and mission to make lives better, and living our core values of respect for each other and integrity in all we do, Sunrise stands out as a wonderful place to learn and grow. “This honor is an acknowledgment that our employees are deeply engaged in the exciting and meaningful work we do for our clients,” says CEO, Eric Soederberg.

It’s our commitment to a worthy purpose that drives us and the culture that guides us.  Director of Systems Engineering, Nick Lesniewski-Laas puts it succinctly; “It’s all about the people you work with. We have a team of about one hundred people who are all here because we want to make a difference in people’s lives. Working on medical devices has a strong impact on society.”  The foundation of our culture is mutual respect, trust, and listening with an assumption of positive intent.  “When you increase trust, you inherently increase the speed in which you can accomplish your goals.”, says Trisha Bouthot, Director of Quality and Test.

Leadership at Sunrise understands the importance of health, including employees’ emotional well-being.  In a recent COVID-19 update to the company, Eric Soederberg asked the employees to consider two major things to maintain our resilience: “to practice gratitude (not just think it), and actually express it to others, and to experience Joy, by doing the things we love to do.

Yes, Sunrise Labs has an impressive list of perks, but it’s their dedication to taking care of one another that bumped them to the No. 1 spot this year.

Take the department director who went to the home of an employee to perform plumbing repairs when the employee was reluctant to let a plumber of unknown COVID status into his home. Or consider the mechanical engineers who fix and provide bicycles for fellow employees and then another who organized after-work mountain bike rides. It’s the team members who deliver coffee and treats to a manager who’s had a particularly grueling day. It is also the group effort to raise $4,000 to help an employee who suffered a life-changing brain aneurysm.

It is also President and CEO Eric Soederberg, who holds one-on-one meetings with every employee annually to learn about their interests, career goals, suggestions for improvements, and if and how the company can better support their needs and desires. In a recent COVID-19 update, Soederberg asked people to consider “how we will come out of this crisis; or better yet; start thinking about how we want to come out of this crisis.”

And, of course, there are the aforementioned Sunrise perks. Among the many things, this company offers are nutrition classes with personal coaching, chair massages, onsite yoga, and a meditation group. The company has also held a virtual cooking class with Food Network’s celebrity Chef Michele where employees learned how to make gnocchi and cannoli using ingredients and tools shipped to their homes in advance.
