Sunrise Labs Taps the Sun

Bedford, NH –

On May 5th Sunrise Labs, a Bedford-based medical device development firm, was joined by Congressman Chris Pappas, Senator Denise Ricciari, Elizabeth Malia of Jeanne Shaheen’s office, and Bobby Graham of Senator Hassan’s office for a ribbon-cutting ceremony celebrating the commissioning of their new 118kW solar array. This most recent initiative further extends Sunrise Labs’ commitment to reducing its environmental footprint, which also includes the installation of electric vehicle charging stations and a bonus to employees who purchased an electric vehicle over the last year. “I think what our job should be as policymakers at the local, state, and federal level is to understand the transformation that is possible and to help with putting incentives in the right places. We need to figure out how to make more investments in projects and do things in a green and sustainable way. We’ve got to be thinking over the horizon and how we can lower our emissions and make sure that we are setting ourselves up for the future.”, said Congressman Chris Pappas.

Installed by Brentwood-based ReVision Energy, the system comprises 267 photovoltaic panels which are expected to produce over 100 megawatt-hours of clean, solar electricity each year. “We believe that climate change affects everyone’s lives deeply and we hope that we’re setting an example of what can be done to prevent an environmental crisis.”, said Eric Soederberg, President of Sunrise Labs.

Sunrise Labs and ReVision Energy are both members of New Hampshire Businesses for Social Responsibility and share a mission to improve the world by creating positive change in our communities. “The new solar array will offset over 114,000 pounds of carbon pollution annually, – equivalent to planting 1,300 tree seedlings – while helping lead our state’s transition from fossil fuels to homegrown renewable energy,” said Dan Weeks of ReVision Energy.
