Sunrise Labs Secures Succession of Leadership

Sunstein and Soederberg execute stock sale agreement

Bedford, New Hampshire -- April 2nd, 2018 -- Eric Soederberg, President of Sunrise Labs, and Drew Sunstein, Founder and Chairman of the Board, have executed a stock sale agreement resulting in Soederberg owning the majority of shares. This transaction secures the ownership succession of Sunrise, assuring continued control of the company by the management team as well as the continuation of Sunrise Labs values, culture, and quality. Sunstein retains a minority stock position and will remain active in the company. The terms of the private transaction were not disclosed.

Soederberg joined Sunrise in 2008 with over 15 years of experience leading a wide variety of product development enterprises. During his tenure at Sunrise, Soederberg has driven extensive operational improvements and growth, including strategic hiring of key team members to support growth (CTO, Directors of System Engineering and Quality, and top notch engineering team members and program managers), implementation and certification of a ISO-13485 quality management system, tripled revenue, expanded facility, and investments in tools to better manage, monitor, and report on project progress.  

Prior to joining Sunrise Labs, Soederberg was Executive Director of Programs for medical device manufacturer KMC Systems. In a previous role at DEKA Research and Development, he led the development of the world’s first iBOT™, a complex dynamically balanced mobility system and Class III medical device.  “I love working with innovators who are charged-up about developing a new device that will redefine the current standard of care, and in the process make the world a better place”, says Soederberg. “At Sunrise we believe open and honest partnerships with our clients result in long term relationships and success after success.”

Soederberg holds multiple patents in medical device technologies. He earned a Master of Science in Electrical Engineering from MIT, a SM (MBA) from MIT’s Sloan School of Management, and a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering at Worcester Polytechnic Institute.
